  • So helpful!

I love this podcast. Sarah somehow describes exactly what is going on in my brain! My bf and I have hit quite a few bumps in our relationship because of the “he wanted to be would” mentality, which is so not helpful for 2 people just doing their best. Sarah has opened the door in my mind to have compassion for our relationship, him and especially myself - which my anxious brain thought would lead to a worse situation but has actually made things 100% better. Thank you Sarah, your podcast is so i... more

  • A must!

I started listening to this podcast during a very emotional time and trying to determine what my emotions were telling me about my relationship. I never realized I had relationship anxiety or obsessive thoughts but this podcast has normalized so much what I am going through. Listening to her episodes have calmed me down and put my mind at ease so I can learn to trust myself again and end the vicious intrusive thought cycle. Sara has helped me so much and I still have so many more episodes to lis... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#136 - Expanding Your Capacity for Joy with Taylor Welch
Q: What are practical steps to balance joy and daily stress?
Acknowledge that stress can be useful if managed intentionally, plan to alternate moments of stress and joy, and trust that joy will return. The key is not fearing its return but knowing joy is a resource that can come back when nurtured.
#136 - Expanding Your Capacity for Joy with Taylor Welch
Q: How do you handle heavy days when joy feels distant or unsafe in the body?
She recommends first sitting with the feelings, recognizing the patterns of the mind, and then taking action that isn't driven by fear. Moving the body, going for a walk, and treating the emotions as information from a best-friend perspective can help shift back toward joy.
#136 - Expanding Your Capacity for Joy with Taylor Welch
Q: What were a couple of examples of what your joy-led choices looked like during the joy experiment?
Joy showed up in simple, everyday decisions—like choosing between breakfast options, dancing to a playlist, dressing for a good mood, and even taking a solo trip to a city that brought her joy. Over time, these small choices built safety and trust in joy, so she could let joy steer more aspects of her life.
#125 - Becoming the Most Honest Version of Yourself with Survivor 48’s Shauhin Davari
Q: What is one thing you have learned about love?
If you don't love yourself, you cannot love others for sure.
#123 - Letting Go of Who You Think You “Should” Be with Mollie Birney
Q: What would you say is the difference between what we identify as versus maybe our essence or who we are below those identities?
There is a distinction between essence and behavior; essence relates to our true self, while behavior often aligns with external labels.
