A family ripped from their rural Queensland community, and a town fighting to bring them back. The Nadesalingam family captured the hearts and minds of people across the world when they were ripped from their regional Australian community of Biloela, but there’s more to this than a heartwarming story.

The first episode reeled me in and kept me there till the end. The amount of information given in such an accessible way is incredible.
Honestly, I’m not surprised this podcast turned out amazingly, Jay’s other series “Shoes Off” was also hugely educational for me.

I binged all episodes of this podcast!!! Couldn’t put it down. Definitely cried, laughed cringed and was horrified at the story of this incredible, unbelievably resilient family.
As a second generation Australian, it’s quite excruciating to listen to Australia’s approach to :
a) refugee processing
b) the money. Is outrageous the privatisation of the dehumanising people in favour for profit.
Absolutely loved it. Exceptional investigative reporting and diligent work to bring it to the masses
No real explanation of why Priya should be considered a refugee when she went to Australia via a 12 year stint in India. Maybe some legal information or comparisons to other countries' policies on immigration where people are allowed (?) to claim asylum after living abroad for several years would have contextualized the issue.
The hosts are super cringe
