Thanks for the trip(s) back in time.

Was James Cameron in third place for mentions in Wizard behind Rob & Todd during their heyday? 🤔

  • Awesome!

Randomly discovered this podcast while searching for back issues online of ‘Wizard’ magazine that I’m currently collecting! So this is a pleasant surprise and a fantastic idea; the magazine gave me hours of entertainment that I fondly recall decades later and this podcast recaptures all that by being a podcast guide to the comic guide. Well done, all involved, I’m a fan!

WIZARDS The Podcast Guide To Comics | Episode 126.5
Q: If you could take on another not so satanic character, who would it be?
Jim Starlin's Warlock. I don't know what's been done with him since Starlin, but I'd like to take a crack at that version.
WIZARDS The Podcast Guide To Comics | Episode 126.5
Q: Do you ever get any hate mail from evil people who think Hellboy should live up to his name and start some shit?
No, not yet. But I did get a fan letter from the Church of Satan, which they were into the book and they wanted more hell in it.
WIZARDS The Podcast Guide To Comics | Episode 125
Q: What do you think about the idea of crossovers between brands and how that impacts readers' sense of wonder?
The hosts discuss crossovers as both exciting fan moments and potentially eroding the magic due to corporate control, while acknowledging their historical value and cultural impact in shaping reader expectations.
WIZARDS The Podcast Guide To Comics | Episode 125
Q: Which Marvel or DC character would you most like to see Alan Moore write an epic story for?
Kalervo suggests a character like Sleepwalker or Deadpool as interesting canvases for Moore's provocative, boundary-pushing storytelling, while noting Moore's tendency to challenge iconic status rather than celebrate it.
WIZARDS The Podcast Guide To Comics | Episode 125
Q: Kalervo, if superheroes were real, would you trust them to save the day?
Adam and Kalervo explore the idea that superheroes should function as metaphors for societal solutions, with care taken to emphasize the importance of accountability, policy, and democratic safeguards rather than flashy demonstrations of power.
