Too often it devolves into Alex and Justin piling on Pete and deliberately goading him into anger or frustration. Pete, on the other hand, is easily goaded. Comic Book Club Bonus: Mark Russell Is Forgotten, Divine With AHOY's First Kickstarter
Q: How does writing for a Kickstarter differ from standard comics publication?
It allows the writer to tell the story in one cohesive arc without worrying about page-by-page pacing required by monthly releases, enabling more flexible storytelling and pacing decisions.
Comic Book Club Bonus: Mark Russell Is Forgotten, Divine With AHOY's First Kickstarter
Q: What is the core premise of The Forgotten Divine?
The story follows an unhoused veteran and former EOD technician whose visions of an alien landscape become a catalyst for a larger community that shares those visions, exploring themes of belonging, meaning, and the way cult-like groups form around shared experiences.
Comic Book Club Bonus: Mark Russell Is Forgotten, Divine With AHOY's First Kickstarter
Q: Why was this particular project chosen for a Kickstarter?
Because its 64-page length sits between a one-shot and a graphic novel, making it a perfect test case for crowdfunding where the story can be as long as it needs to be without being constrained by traditional market formats.
Comic Book Club: Kristen Gudsnuk Has Been Touched By A Demon
Q: Where did the characters come from originally?
Gudsnuk explains that many ideas come from personal experiences and self-help themes, with characters shaped by how she wants to explore growth and failure within a darkly humorous framework.
Comic Book Club Bonus: Ian Flynn Joins The Metal Legion
Q: Would you want to write movie-version Sonic or DC versions in comics?
Flynn expresses interest in engaging with movie versions but notes it would depend on rights and production coordination; he enjoys exploring adaptations as a fan and as a writer, while primarily working within the established mainline versions for this crossover.
