  • Long Time Listener

I have been listening to Karen’s podcasts for the last 8 years…when I had my first baby. I felt so alone, and did not grow up in a Christian household. Karen always has felt like a second mom to me, someone I could listen to for Biblical parenting advice. God has placed her here for hope for mommas who grew up not having a momma like Karen, hope that it is possible to be a loving, caring mom and that your children will some day be your friend! And want to be around you. This podcast took a huge ... more

  • Love 💕

I’m so thankful for this podcast and wish I knew about it when my kids were younger. I have 2 teens and one in college. I’m currently so grateful for the series on parenting from Proverbs. Thank you, Karen for telling the truth about disciplining our children. I see many moms discarding the truths of scripture for other worldly ideas. They don’t work! Keep on keeping on!

  • Absolute Gold!!

I have been listening to Wire Talk for ELEVEN years!! It is just the best and really the only Christian parenting podcast I listen to. Along with God’s word, it has carried me through some really difficult seasons with my three kids (now all teens and tweens) and my marriage. Karen offers so much parenting wisdom through a biblical lens. I just love it and am so grateful for this ministry. Thank you!!!

  • Secret weapon for motherhood / life

I was introduced to Karen’s podcast through a mom’s group after having my 1st child 3.5 years ago. Now 2 more kids later I am an AVID listener and on my second run through of all the episodes. I am so thankful that God put this ministry on Karen’s heart and for this podcast. This has helped me to learn about myself, motherhood, marriage, children, how to be a friend, the list goes on and on. Karen and her God given wisdom has been such an instrumental part of my motherhood journey and such a ble... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

522: How to Build Work Ethic in Your Kids This Summer
Q: My kids push back on chores and I hate the attitude, so I just do it myself. Is that a good long-term approach?
No, it teaches laziness and entitlement and doesn't build real skills; doing it for them steals the opportunity for growth and independence.
523: Simple Ways to Make Summer More Fun
Q: What if my kids are forever bored no matter what I do?
Recognize that boredom can be productive; lean into chores or low-pressure activities, allow time for imagination, and use boredom as a cue to let kids create their own games or projects.
523: Simple Ways to Make Summer More Fun
Q: What should I do when my kids seem never satisfied with simple fun ideas like ice cream after dinner?
Expectations vary by child; acknowledge that kids will be kids, and keep a light, flexible approach while offering a mix of small, engaging options and routines to prevent daily overwhelm.
523: Simple Ways to Make Summer More Fun
Q: I'm a blue and I just don't feel like a fun mom. What if that's not my personality?
She reassures that fun can be expressed through thoughtfulness, planning, and creating engaging, low-effort ideas that align with individual strengths; even if someone isn't naturally 'fun,' they can still contribute creativity and thoughtful activities that feel playful to their kids.
510: Am I Ruining My Teenager’s Life?
Q: Is it possible the reality of a dream career will shift as she grows, and how do I balance belief in her with realism?
Express belief in her talents while explaining the realities of the field, encourage experiential steps (jobs, internships), and support a flexible path that may evolve over time; avoid telling her she isn't capable, and instead offer practical guidance and network help.
