  • Explicit content listed as Clean

The rating of “Clean” that the uploader has given this podcast is not accurate. Season 5 Episode 25 (“From Virgin vs Vixen to Grace and Consent”) contains strong uncensored swearing.

A discussion of adult topics such as sexuality and sexual assault does not need to make use of obscene language. At the very least, the producers of this podcast should set the episode’s rating to “Explicit”, so that listeners can rely on Apple Podcasts’ content ratings.

  • Incredibly Helpful

I discovered this podcast in 2020 via an episode on online dating, which was incredibly helpful for me at the time as I was walking through my own app dating journey. Shortly after, I met the partner whom I ended up marrying three years later. Having grown up with some purity culture messaging, the episodes helped me navigate so many questions I had about dating, relationships, and how we could define what living a Christian life means. It helped me figure out how to have a healthy relationship.... more

  • Real and informative

I was skeptical that there would be enough to talk about but purity culture and its fallout provides plenty of fodder. Devi (and Jess) is smart, asks thoughtful questions, and provides a critical lens that really allows the listener to draw their own conclusions.

  • Not For Me

I’m a transgender woman who believes that God loves me exactly as I am, and blesses my transition. You’re right, listening to the interview with dr. David Bennett regarding Andy Stanley sermon was traumatizing and disturbing. I wish I would have heeded your warning. Because of all that I’ve been through as a former evangelical, born and raised, I am not able to be a part of these conversations at this time. However, I am grateful that you are facilitating them. thanks for helping me get more cle... more
