Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How Spark Microsystems Makes Short-Range Wireless Deterministic
Q: To talk about Spark, your technology and go‑to‑market, I imagine you provide the silicon or modules and some software stack to go with it. How do you describe how you are packaging your technology today?
We're a chip company that sells wireless transceivers with a full software development kit, plus reference designs to help customers quickly spin up products. Our second‑generation products are in production today, with a third generation planned, and we'll soon offer modules to simplify integration. We also provide antenna IP and PCB‑level designs to keep costs down.
AI’s Real Payoff In Telecom
Q: How is AI helping with churn and customer experience?
AI signals can identify churn propensity and potential issues before customers leave, enabling proactive interventions within privacy limits, which reduces acquisition costs and preserves revenue.
AI’s Real Payoff In Telecom
Q: What are some early real-world AI wins you're seeing in operators today?
AI is being used for automation, anomaly detection, capacity planning, and revenue assurance, with AI helping to simplify complex platforms for both engineers and business users, and starting to automate root-cause analysis and proactive fault management.
AI’s Real Payoff In Telecom
Q: What is the shift you're seeing in telecom—from connectivity to intelligence?
Operators have invested heavily in 5G and fiber, but monetization hasn't kept pace; the opportunity lies in leveraging the data they already collect to create new value for customers, while navigating privacy and regulatory constraints.
A New Way To Cut IoT Network Data At The Edge
Q: What was the first real-world use case that convinced you this approach could be a big deal?
We conducted early POCs and then a Texas fracking use case over Starlink where we reduced data by about 80 percent, enabling continuous transmission and avoiding the need to filter data for uplink bandwidth constraints.
