  • You da bomb

Rebecca Rusch’s documentary randomly came into my life not too long ago, 3 Women, 300 Miles, which lead me to look up more things about all of them and led me down a path to discover more about Rebecca and all she’s been up to. What an inspiration and lovely happy accident to stumble upon such an amazing human. Thank you for all you do Rebecca!

  • I LOVE these conversations!

I worked in a male dominated field (boat captain of ferries, tugs, worked marine construction) with many wonderful men and others who were stereotypically not so great. Chemistry grad and got into research, mostly stereotypically not so great men. And these conversations are a breath of fresh air on topics I’ve not had the opportunity to discuss with many people a way that was satisfying. Re-Barbie (!) I LOVE what you’re doing. Found this after reading Melissa Arnot Reid’s memoir, Enough (... more

  • Intimate Conversations with Friends

I’ve been a fan and follower of Rebecca for over a decade now, so it was a foregone conclusion that I would listen to her podcast. But why should somebody else listen? Who needs another podcast about wellness or sports performance? And the reason to listen is because this podcast isn’t about that — not really. It’s about getting smart, capable, interesting people in a room and having an intimate conversation with them. How have they struggled? How have they persevered? What were the little victo... more

Everyday Excellence with Brad Stulberg | EP44
Q: How do we find our values and what is a practical process to define them?
There is a hundred-values list in the book's appendix. You spend time reflecting, circle resonant terms, cluster them into themes, condense to a few groups, and then pick one guiding word that represents your core value. From there you define what that value means in daily life and align decisions to live in accordance with it.
Jay Petervary, Part 2: Listening to the Trail: Lessons from the ITI | EP40
Q: How is this year different for you than previous ITI attempts, and what changed in your approach to racing and risk?
He emphasizes a shift toward maturity and patience, prioritizing sustainable pacing and personal growth over aggressive placements, and notes a more measured risk tolerance and attention to long-term well-being.
Wild Resilience: From Surviving to Thriving with Dr. Jaimie Lusk | EP35
Q: Why is outdoor-based therapy or 'wild therapy' effective for trauma recovery?
Outdoor settings provide a partner to meet safety, joy, and connection needs; movement and nature help regulate the nervous system, and the social, communal aspects of nature-based programs reinforce support and shared purpose, which accelerates integration and post-traumatic growth.
Wild Resilience: From Surviving to Thriving with Dr. Jaimie Lusk | EP35
Q: Can you expand on what moral injury is and how it differs from PTSD or a psychological disorder?
Moral injury isn't a diagnosable disorder like PTSD; it arises when one's values are violated, either through witnessing or participating in actions that clash with those values, leading to ongoing distress that healing strategies—like reconciling experiences and finding meaningful alignment—address rather than medical labeling alone.
The Approval Trap: The Dark Side of Success | EP1
Q: Why is it that we're afraid to show ourselves, our true selves to the world?
People are often afraid to reveal their true selves due to an unproductive obsession about what others think of them, fearing rejection from their community.
