  • big Mike Bonin fan!

Mike Bonin is an amazing counsel member and an all around amazing human being. He is among the few in LA actually trying to solve the homelessness crisis instead of just sweeping it under the rug. I am proud that my city has someone like him trying to make change for the better. It’s always been obvious that his only goal is to help his constituents, he is so down to Earth!!

  • Mike Bonin is the worst politician in Los Angeles

Lies and more lies. He’s anti tax paying resident, pro criminal and pro homeless being allowed to do whatever they want including being able to pitch tents in front of our houses. He refuses to implement any laws or rules on the drug addict vagrants that have invaded and destroyed Venice and the west side. He allows and encourages drug use on our streets and sidewalks by vagrants who steal from the residents and break into local businesses. He refuses to help the average resident, pushes all the... more

  • More Bonin Lies

This guys’ hype machine is on full blast and always broken. He’s destroyed the Westside of LA and now he wants to tell the world what a fantastic job he’s doing? Pass!

Also, with budget cuts, furlows, not enough people to do the work, and record high homelessness... is this the best use of my councilmember’s time?

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What's Up with City of LA Charter Reform?
Q: How would the LAPD governance change?
The Council would have the final say on policy in tandem with a Police Commission, with the Council's policy instruction overriding the Commission's if there is a conflict, clarifying the Council as the ultimate policymaker for LAPD.
What's Up with City of LA Charter Reform?
Q: What about rank-choice voting?
Rank-choice voting would allow voters to rank candidates, reducing the need for a separate primary, saving money, and enabling voters to support preferred candidates without wasting ballots when their top choice has little chance of winning.
What's Up with City of LA Charter Reform?
Q: Why expand the City Council to 25 seats?
Data and deliberations suggested that more seats would improve representation, enable deeper connections between residents and their representatives, and enable a more diverse makeup with the help of an independent redistricting commission.
What's Up with City of LA Charter Reform?
Q: What is the LA City Charter and why are we revising it?
It's the city's constitution—the playbook for how power and responsibilities are allocated and how government is structured—and the commission argues for modernization and clearer rules through a voter-approved package.
Pride Month Hero: Lu Lipmen
Q: What do you wish people knew about being non-binary?
Lu describes being non-binary as a persistent, inherent experience rather than a trend, and stresses that correct pronouns and understanding come from ongoing education and openness to learn.
