  • Conceptially challenging

If you think of the guest’s stories as a soup of tedium, then Max (salt?) and David’s (pepper?) interspersed questions and empathetic anecdotes as the seasoning, ignore how boring this definitely should be and just marvel at the implausibility of

Bland soup + salt + pepper = tasty! Then you’ve got (over) an hour of remarkably enjoyable consumption (not to be confused with the ‘olden days’ meaning) to enjoy … don’t forget the bread, but stay away from sharp objects just in case …

  • The Spinoff

Five out of five stars - no notes, but one suggestion. Can we get Guy Montgomery to create a spinoff “Yesterday, what did you do?” that works backward from the end of the day to start?

  • Delightfully Pointless!

As a concept this shouldn’t have lasted more than a couple of episodes. However, imho it’s essential listening twice a week and I find myself torn between enjoying as soon as each instalment lands or saving gotta time when I can give it my full attention.

I don’t usually write reviews but in the hope of getting this gem up the charts, I’ve made an exception!
