I have loved the music of The Steel Wheels for many years and cannot wait to see them in person again. The songs they have written for us are so powerful and touch the heart, like all of their music. I wish I had been paying attention when they asked for people’s stories, don’t we all have a story we’d like memorialized? If you like folk music and musicians who care you must listen to this podcast and their music.

My Name Is Sharon was written for and about her.. she passed in 2013 from epilepsy. This beautiful song captures the true soul and essence of this amazing young woman. It’s clear from this podcast that the members of the band listen to their fans with the same care and intensity that their fans listen to the band. I’ve been fortunate or maybe blessed to have experienced the Steel Wheels in live concerts in Indiana, Michigan, and Virginia quite a few times.
