I like the hosts and enjoy the way the show makes me reflect on my childhood and how much times have changed since then.
This podcast made me realize how much a sitcom can do to normalize problematic trends and behaviors. Yes you laughed but were you also giving yourself permission to behave badly? By not being as bad as the Connors, were you normalized your family dynamics even if it was unhealthy? Just listen. The hosts make it clear they too loved some of the work these entertainers did but you can love something and be critical of it too. Thank you.

Two hosts critically examine Roseanne-era culture, media, and politics through a lens of historical context and social patterns. Each episode dissects a phenomenon tied to the show and its broader impact, blending cultural analysis, interviews, and personal narratives to reveal how entertainment reflects and shapes real-world dynamics. The show is likely to appeal to listeners who enjoy thoughtful critiques of media, class, gender, and race, presented with a candid, sometimes provocative, point of view. A notable strength is how it pairs detailed episode-level analysis with overarching themes about representation, parenthood, and the politics of nostalgia, making it a potentially fertile sponsor or guest opportunity for guests who can speak... more
