I am so glad to have stumbled across this podcast. It has a unique way of looking at both sides and them connecting them. We really aren’t all that different are we?
Great how multiple viewpoints are considered in each episode. The podcast calmly explores different sides and in this enables us to broaden our thinking. Thank you for your work!
Not only is Us & Them very engaging and an interesting podcast to listen to, but I am surprised by the multiple ways of looking at the topics. It’s not just black & white, but in-between too. Even though it can be hard to listen to some of the guests, they exist and it’s healthy for us all to try to keep our minds open. Thanks Trey Kay for your great work!

A thoughtful, conversation-driven program that seeks multiple perspectives on social issues, culture, and politics across America. Episodes often center on civil rights, race, crime, local communities, journalism, caregiving, and the ways public policy intersects daily life. The host tends to spotlight personal narratives alongside expert analysis, with a frequent emphasis on empathy, nuance, and bridging divides. A notable strength is its willingness to feature historically underrepresented voices and to tackle controversial topics with balanced, patient inquiry, which can be a strong fit for listeners who prefer deep context and human stories over hot takes.
