What He Built After the World Cup
Q: What made you start the Sanneh Foundation while you were still a player?
A sense of responsibility that came with being the first of this kind from Minnesota; a young girl asking for help sparked it, and the idea grew from there into a structured organization focused on safe, accessible programs and later on anti-racism training and scalable programming.
The Woman Who Raised Her Hand
Q: How did you decide to pursue the General Chair role for the Women's PGA Championship?
I initially doubted myself, but after taking on other leadership experiences and proving I could manage large volunteer teams, I raised my hand and pursued the opportunity, which then solidified my readiness.
The Woman Who Raised Her Hand
Q: What is your advice for running huge undertakings and maintaining balance?
Prioritize, delegate through a trusted leadership team, and stay organized by breaking the work into categories with clear timing and goals; balance comes from protecting time for yourself and your priorities.
MartinPatrick 3: The Partnership Behind It
Q: What is the key to balancing creativity and business practicality?
Two distinct lanes—creative and financial—need to coexist with clear boundaries. When each partner stays in their lane, vision stays clear and execution remains disciplined, enabling sustainable growth.
MartinPatrick 3: The Partnership Behind It
Q: How did you handle the fear and risk during the 2008 recession?
We trusted our gut but also leaned on tight financial discipline, cutting expenses to the bone, negotiating leases with protections, and keeping a laser focus on the essentials to survive until markets recovered.
