  • I wanted to like this podcast

I really wanted to like this podcast, but after listening to about 5 to 6 episodes I came to realize that all he’s doing is being a spokesperson to sell products. Just like most of the other podcast about health and wellness. When he started selling toothpaste. That’s when I jump ship. How about like a baking soda and water or peroxide mouth rinse. Nope see you later buddy. Good try.

  • Great Listen!

Ben makes learning about keto and fasting feel so much less overwhelming. I love how he focuses on mindset and gratitude too, not just on what you're eating. It’s definitely a great podcast for staying motivated and getting your metabolic health back on track!

  • Metabolic Freedom!

I love your content and how you give so much information that has revolutionized not only my life but those that I work with as a fertility coach. Just curious what happened to the old intro I really love the quote. "You're a piece of the master."

  • Ads, ads, and more ads

Not sure how people find this helpful. The episodes are rather short, but the actual material is about half or two-thirds of the time. The rest is ads, and he even works in ads to the content.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

3x More Cortisol Receptors: Why Stress Puts Fat On Your Belly First | Cynthia Thurlow #1371
Q: If someone struggled with keto before, what would you tell them to adjust first?
Start with testing metabolic markers like fasting insulin and glucose to gauge metabolic flexibility, then tailor carbohydrate and fat intake accordingly; keto can be a metabolic tool rather than a one-size-fits-all plan, and a 45-day well-structured plan can help reset and rebalance.
3x More Cortisol Receptors: Why Stress Puts Fat On Your Belly First | Cynthia Thurlow #1371
Q: How do you address the cortisol piece and declining hormones in midlife women?
Track stress adaptation with heart rate variability, adjust fasting and exercise accordingly, ensure adequate nourishment, and consider cycle- or hormone-aligned strategies to reduce chronic cortisol, using tools like HRV and sleep metrics to guide decisions.
3x More Cortisol Receptors: Why Stress Puts Fat On Your Belly First | Cynthia Thurlow #1371
Q: Walk me through what a feast day might look like.
A feast day is a keto flex day where total carbohydrates are raised to roughly 100–150 grams, focusing on whole-food carbs, with fat kept low (under about 40 grams) and protein remaining high to facilitate metabolic flexibility rather than a simple cheat.
The Hidden Reason You're Aging Faster Than Your Age (It Starts in Your 20s) | Siobhan Mitchell #1364
Q: Why is the mitochondria so central to aging and disease?
Mitochondria generate energy but also create oxidative stress; most hallmarks of aging—genomic instability, proteostasis issues, inflammation—trace back to mitochondrial dysfunction, making mitochondria a central lever for aging processes.
The Hidden Reason You're Aging Faster Than Your Age (It Starts in Your 20s) | Siobhan Mitchell #1364
Q: What are the first signs that aging is starting to affect mitochondria in the body?
Early signs include reduced exercise performance, slower recovery, brain fog, fatigue by late afternoon, and overall decreased energy due to mitochondria not producing enough energy and increasing oxidative stress.
