  • Charity, Clarity, and Encouragement with Sean Cole

I’ve been enjoying Sean’s sermons and his clear articulation of Reformed Theology and his very charitable interaction with Traditionalists-Provisionists (of whom I am one). Although I may disagree with him theologically in a number of areas, I’ve really enjoyed a number of the messages that I’ve listened to and I’ve learned a lot from his surveys of church history and especially the history of Southern Baptist “Traditionalism”. • Was Hoping For More :-(

I came across Sean Cole and this podcast because of his interactions with another podcast and I was impressed with his ability to discuss heavy topics with cordiality.

I am not Calvinistic, but was looking for an even handed representation in order to fully understand the view.I downloaded the first three messages in order to take the podcast for a test drive.

The first podcast was good and Sean stressed the importance of understanding the other side's view and called out some fellow Calvinist... more

STUMP THE PASTOR!!!
Q: Is John 7-8 and the ending of Mark canonically authoritative given manuscript variations?
The host explains that while some earliest manuscripts omit portions, the broader historic church has treated these passages as canonical; they're still read as Scripture, but one should avoid building doctrine from them alone and should compare with other biblical corroboration.
ROMANS 9: Predestination and Reprobation
Q: If God has already determined who is elect, why should we pray for and evangelize the lost?
God commands us to share the Gospel, which is the means through which He saves His elect.
ROMANS 9: Predestination and Reprobation
Q: If Israel is God's chosen people, why are so few ethnic Jews actually saved?
Paul argues that ethnicity alone does not guarantee salvation; it requires faith in Christ.
Being Nothing but Possessing Everything: MATTHEW 5:5
Q: What does it mean to inherit the earth?
Inheriting the earth refers to receiving it as a divine gift from God, contrasting with the ambition-driven pursuit of power and status that ultimately leads to destruction.
Being Nothing but Possessing Everything: MATTHEW 5:5
Q: What does meekness actually mean?
Biblical meekness is defined as power under restraint, exemplified by a trained horse that knows how to obey its master, contrasting against common misconceptions of meekness as weakness or passivity.
