  • A worthwhile podcast

I enjoy this podcast, but there is a strange thing about the editing that always irks me.

The producers have a liking, it seems, to editing the voices of guests in such a way that they often trail off mid-sentence a number of times during the show. Then John normally speaks over the top of them with a summarising thought etc.

I listen to a lot of podcasts and I never hear any other shows ever do this. I find it kind of disrespectful to the guests… sort of like, they’re saying something now… b... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

REWIND: Danger - Proselytising
Q: Should Christians not do it (proselytizing)? Should they really do it?
Yes, Christians should proselytize but need to be seen positively before their words carry weight.
REWIND: Danger - Proselytising
Q: So why do you think people in the West are creeped out when conversation turns to religion, whereas in other parts of the world, that's not the case?
The secular-sacred divide leads to discomfort discussing religion publicly; it's common for these topics to polarize conversations.
REWIND: Kingdom Come
Q: What does the Bible say about the intermediate state?
The Bible mentions little about this state; it focuses more on bodily resurrection as the eternal life.
REWIND: Kingdom Come
Q: Do you have a personality in heaven?
The church doesn't have a teaching on this, but it suggests we retain our personality even with a body.
Question Answer XIII
Q: How does turn the other cheek apply to governments battling terrorism?
While Jesus taught peace, Dickson acknowledges a mix of evidence exists in the Bible showing that governments may legitimately use force to protect against evil.
