  • Great chemistry

Love the chemistry between Copes, Papa and Tim. Im not a 49er or Giants fan (Raiders and A’s) and dont really follow basketball, but I still listen to this show because its just good entertainment. I hadnt listened to KNBR in over a decade, but decided to give this show a shot because Im a fan of Derek and Steven’s Just Your Opinion, Man pod. Hopefully this crew has a long run together.

  • Copes the Bully

Copes was never the brightest bulb in the lamp but now he has a new schtick bullying and snapping at young Papa. Count me out.

  • Going downhill fast

I listened for a few weeks after they fired Tolbert. It’s now just boring and though I like Copes he can’t carry the young Papa kid who I assume got the job because of his Dad and cheap salary. Seems the owners are now just milking the station for all they can before they switch to constant elevator music like so many others. Sad

  • Dump Speedy as a sponsor please

Constant same add over and over. There’s got to be another sponsor available. These adds are so incessant that I will never go there. I understand that money runs the world but its torture. I would give this 5 stars otherwise

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rich Aurilia oon Bryce Eldridge's walk-off Grand Slam and hope for the future for the Giants
Q: So Richie, what did yesterday mean to you?
It signified not just the comeback itself but Bryce Eldridge's growth and the franchise's hope for a core around young players; it showed that the team might have a bright future if these moments are seized and built upon.
Eric Branch with the latest Niners injury updates ahead of 49ers Training Camp
Q: Who do you see as the bigger impact player among the Niners' off-season acquisitions for 2026, and why?
Branch suggests Osa Digizua could have a larger impact due to interior run-stopping ability and leadership, even if the public focus goes to flashier pass rush names; he emphasizes durability and fit within the defense as key factors.
Matt Maiocco on the Rams trading for Myles Garrett and the impact it will have on the 49ers plans this off-season
Q: What's the logic behind the 49ers' cap space strategy and how does it affect their offseason planning?
The strategy is to remain cap compliant year-round, with unused space rolling over to next year to preserve long-term flexibility and avoid rash moves in a highly competitive offseason landscape.
Matt Maiocco on the Rams trading for Myles Garrett and the impact it will have on the 49ers plans this off-season
Q: Does this change the 49ers' chances of countering with a move like Joey Bosa or another high-profile pass rusher?
Maiocco suggests that despite the Rams' move, the 49ers are unlikely to chase a blockbuster overreaction and will stick to their three-year plan, focusing on cap management and gradual roster improvements rather to avoid rushed decisions.
Matt Maiocco with latest news surrounding Brandon Aiyuk and the 49ers
Q: What about the schedule and the international game—how does that affect how they'll manage the roster and cap space?
He notes the balancing act of long-term cap discipline while trying to stay competitive, with the schedule's layout influencing player usage and contract decisions.
