  • Great chemistry

Love the chemistry between Copes, Papa and Tim. Im not a 49er or Giants fan (Raiders and A’s) and dont really follow basketball, but I still listen to this show because its just good entertainment. I hadnt listened to KNBR in over a decade, but decided to give this show a shot because Im a fan of Derek and Steven’s Just Your Opinion, Man pod. Hopefully this crew has a long run together.

  • Copes the Bully

Copes was never the brightest bulb in the lamp but now he has a new schtick bullying and snapping at young Papa. Count me out.

  • Going downhill fast

I listened for a few weeks after they fired Tolbert. It’s now just boring and though I like Copes he can’t carry the young Papa kid who I assume got the job because of his Dad and cheap salary. Seems the owners are now just milking the station for all they can before they switch to constant elevator music like so many others. Sad

  • Dump Speedy as a sponsor please

Constant same add over and over. There’s got to be another sponsor available. These adds are so incessant that I will never go there. I understand that money runs the world but its torture. I would give this 5 stars otherwise

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Chris Rose debates merits of WBC and what a win means for USA vs Venezuela
Q: So Chris, how should American baseball fans view tonight's game?
Fans should see it as an emotional, national-pride event that also tests players' commitment and endurance during spring training, recognizing that while the stakes are high, the timing complicates MLB duty and preparation for the season.
Steph and retirement: far off? Marcus Thompson weighs in, plus a Dirty Work Oscar recap
Q: When do you think Steph will know it's time to hang it up?
Marcus Thompson relayed that Steph, like many great players, will weigh the happiness and enjoyment of playing against the preparation burden, and may decide based on whether it remains fun and worthwhile to compete at the highest level.
Could Joey Bosa join the 49ers? Plus Macklin Celebrini continues to wow as SJ finishes roadie
Q: What would it take financially for the 49ers to bring Joey Bosa in?
Maiocco explains that the 49ers could mirror the Mike Evans contract structuring and use Nick Bosa's signing-bonus-conversion approach to free cap space, possibly achieving a cap hit around $3.75–$4 million for a Joey Bosa deal, depending on negotiations and how aggressively they structure it.
Matt Vasgersian thoughts on the upcoming MLB season, and how Tony Vitello will manage in year one with the Giants
Q: What did you think about the unusual hire of Tony Vitello by the Giants?
The host and guest discuss Vitello as a perfect fit in a way that respects the historical context of Bochy while acknowledging the potential for new approaches from a college background; they consider the possibility that this could lead to more college-to-MLB managerial moves, though there is skepticism about how quickly others will follow.
Trent Williams contract update, Bay Area Sports Calendar, and Eno Sarris previews the 2026 MLB season
Q: What are the possible outcomes for the Trent Williams situation as the deadline approaches?
Options include giving him a new contract, trading him via mutual parting, or extending the deadline, which would signal ongoing negotiations and keep him with the team.
