  • Great chemistry

Love the chemistry between Copes, Papa and Tim. Im not a 49er or Giants fan (Raiders and A’s) and dont really follow basketball, but I still listen to this show because its just good entertainment. I hadnt listened to KNBR in over a decade, but decided to give this show a shot because Im a fan of Derek and Steven’s Just Your Opinion, Man pod. Hopefully this crew has a long run together.

  • Going downhill fast

I listened for a few weeks after they fired Tolbert. It’s now just boring and though I like Copes he can’t carry the young Papa kid who I assume got the job because of his Dad and cheap salary. Seems the owners are now just milking the station for all they can before they switch to constant elevator music like so many others. Sad

  • Dump Speedy as a sponsor please

Constant same add over and over. There’s got to be another sponsor available. These adds are so incessant that I will never go there. I understand that money runs the world but its torture. I would give this 5 stars otherwise

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Matt Maiocco with latest news surrounding Brandon Aiyuk and the 49ers
Q: What about the schedule and the international game—how does that affect how they'll manage the roster and cap space?
He notes the balancing act of long-term cap discipline while trying to stay competitive, with the schedule's layout influencing player usage and contract decisions.
Matt Maiocco with latest news surrounding Brandon Aiyuk and the 49ers
Q: So really Matt, do you see any end in sight with this, because fans want some resolution, but does it behoove the 49ers to hang on to him?
Maiocco suggests the team is wary of setting a precedent that a disgruntled player can force a release, and that the market for a trade or release hasn't really materialized yet, keeping the status quo in place for now.
Marcus Thompson breaks down the conference finals matchups in the NBA and the MVP officially going to SGA
Q: What does Marcus think about the Spurs' odds in the series against the Thunder?
He thinks the Spurs face a tough matchup because the Thunder are very loaded, and the Spurs may be a year early, with Wembanyama potentially tipping the balance in any close games.
Susan Slusser on the Giants series win over the Athletics and Travor McDonald's role going forward
Q: But what do you think Trevor McDonald's role is once Webb returns back in the string rotation?
Susan suggests a cautious approach: McDonald should probably stay in Sacramento and remain stretched out, ensuring the organization preserves bullpen depth and provides flexibility for later use rather than forcing a six-man rotation that might complicate bullpen usage.
Susan Slusser previews the Giants series against the Diamondbacks
Q: What are your thoughts on Casey Schmidt moving to left field if Ramos remains out?
Susan suggests Schmidt has the athleticism and versatility to handle left field if he can continue to adapt, highlighting his overall utility value and potential to solidify multiple defensive spots.
