  • Hey Dopes!

Maybe before you bury Conforto in favor of Wade Jr., Wilmer, and Matos you should compare their Career OPS: Conforto 816. Wade Jr 762. Flores 760. Matos 661. Chapman 790. Soler 797.

  • Too many short segments

Why can’t we get the full show posted rather than a bunch of 10-20 minutes segments. Also can we get less commercials in the middle of the interviews?

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Are there "too many stats" in sports? JD and Silver go back and forth, plus a Giants/Nationals preview
Q: What about war or win probability, do you find them useful at all?
War has some explanatory value but remains abstract and difficult to translate into actionable coaching decisions; win probability is interesting as a narrative, but it shouldn't drive how we judge teams since it depends on current game state and isn't predictive on its own.
Are there "too many stats" in sports? JD and Silver go back and forth, plus a Giants/Nationals preview
Q: Tim, what's your least favorite stat in any sport?
There are several, but quarterback win totals feel most misguided to me because they simplify complex matchups into a single numeral, which misrepresents performance and context.
Andy Baggarly checks in on the rise of Kyle Harrison while SF staff continues to struggle mightily
Q: How did Kyle Harrison get back to this level after the earlier struggles and injuries?
The discussion highlighted that the Brewers helped Harrison identify and leverage his strengths rather than overhauling his arsenal, allowing him to regain his velocity and command and return to a dominant form.
Andy Baggarly checks in on the rise of Kyle Harrison while SF staff continues to struggle mightily
Q: What did you make of Landon Roop's struggles on Monday as it played out in real time?
Roop appeared not himself due to back tightness; the team noted the injury after the game, and the conversation explored how starting pitchers and bullpen management intersect under stress, emphasizing the need for health to sustain performance.
John Shea weighs in on Willie Adames taking a seat today as the Giants cannot sustain any momentum
Q: What was the reasoning behind Keaton Wynn's appearance in the bullpen, and how did it relate to pitch count management?
The decision reflected a balance between needing to win the game and protecting a pitcher's workload; Wynn was trusted but overuse was avoided, acknowledging that a longer outing for a pitcher on the injured list requires careful management.
