  • Murph is the Best

I listen for Murph but love how fun the show is as a whole. Cooler of Content is probably my favorite segment. What Did Young Tony Ask Today is another great one.

  • Tony Bennett Lives

We are New Yorkers who vacationed early July in San Francisco and walked from Nob Hill to Oracle Park where the Golden Sun shined for us as Tony promised and Michael Conforto went 3 for 4 with HR against Rockies inspiring us to walk after game to Embarcadero to Market Street to O’Farrell Street stopped at Macy’s then walked up O’Farrell through the Tenderloin all the way to St. Mary’s. Absolutely Beautiful walk! Tenderloin was only place we saw a few tents. We were never the least bit scared or... more

Murph: says a bunch of stuff. Mac: “Yeah, yeah!” No surprise he says things like: “I feel you a million percent.” And on Monday, re: Dre Greenlaw, a black player: “That’s my boy. That’s my boy, right there!”

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Larry Krueger on if the 49ers reached in the draft and which rookies he likes
Q: Which of these picks was your favorite?
I kind of like the Romero Height pick in the third round, because he's a high-impact pass rusher with potential, and I think the guy they drafted next to him fits the scheme well. I also like Kaelan Black as a culture-setting presence, even though I had him mocked to the Niners the most.
The Young Tony Farewell: End of an Era, Forever a Part of the Show
Q: What was your favorite thing about working with Murph and Markus?
The deep sports knowledge and the family-like culture they created, making him feel welcomed and supported.
The Young Tony Farewell: End of an Era, Forever a Part of the Show
Q: With your new gig, would you still be involved with Vern Glenn Invitational or other Bay Area events?
Tony indicates he plans to stay connected to Bay Area sports events, keeping doors open to attend and participate where possible.
The Young Tony Farewell: End of an Era, Forever a Part of the Show
Q: What was your least favorite thing about working with your boy Murph?
The demanding nature and high expectations, which, though challenging, ultimately helped raise the quality of the show and pushed Tony to grow.
Susan Slusser on Giants–Dodgers Drama | 49ers on the Clock at No. 33 | Mike Silver Recaps Draft
Q: Mike, Ty Simpson was mentioned as a potential late first-round/early second-round pick. In your view, how good could he be in a Sean McVay system and what might this say about the Rams' quarterback timeline?
Silver indicates that conviction matters with quarterbacks; if a team believes a player can help now, they should pursue them. He notes that McVay's willingness to invest in a young quarterback hinges on those beliefs and the team's readiness to win now, rather than projecting far into the future.
