  • Buster?

You think Buster is the third most important player Giants history after Mays and Bonds? Have you ever heard of Juan Marichal or Willie McCovey? Look up Marichal on Baseball Reference and smile.

  • Review

Been listening since Jan. 2025 when I went on medical leave battling leukemia of which God healed me and I am now cancer free! While gaining strength back I would walk my daughters in the neighborhood and listen and I have been catching almost every episode since! God is good & the Giants talk podcast is worth listening to as a Giants fan!

  • Good Diction

No judgment if you or someone you know uses a lot of discourse markers (e.g., “um,” “like”). But you will find they are quite few and far between on this podcast! And while I can imagine some are cut while editing, I feel what we hear is pretty darn close to what they record! Makes for a great listen. Bravo!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Casey Schmitt stays hot in San Francisco's series win vs. White Sox
Q: What is Zack Minasian's view on the current state of the roster and the major moves ahead?
Minasian stresses a process-focused approach, highlighting development in the farm system, the value of draft assets, and a balance between winning today and building for the future through continued evaluation and strategic additions.
Why mess of a season 'can't get worse' after another series loss
Q: How do you see Bryce Eldridge impacting the lineup, and what's the plan for integrating him with veterans?
Posey and the hosts imply a gradual integration, leveraging Eldridge's defense and offense while allowing veterans to lead; the plan includes strategic rest days and mixing in Casey Schmitt at multiple positions to optimize the lineup.
Why mess of a season 'can't get worse' after another series loss
Q: What do you think it is about baseball that keeps fans coming back despite a rough stretch?
The hosts suggest it's about community and enduring fandom, with moments of memory and hope—like standout games or unexpected heroics—that keep fans connected to the team even in bad times.
How Landen Roupp, Jung Hoo Lee fueled San Francisco's winning homestand
Q: Is there a chance Luis Arriz could sneak into the All-Star game this year given his steady play and defensive excellence?
He could have a real shot at the All-Star game if his offense continues to improve and he stays in the mix, though the group around second base in the NL is strong and makes the path competitive.
How Landen Roupp, Jung Hoo Lee fueled San Francisco's winning homestand
Q: Could Landen Roupp be an early contender for the Cy Young Award or even an All-Star selection?
We think he is in the All-Star conversation through the next couple of months if he keeps pitching at this level, but the Cy Young is a much bigger jump and would be surprising given the workload and the level of competition in the NL.
