  • Almost as bland as Claire “Bland”Byrne

Few months in now with new presenter and the programme has some excellent content but is still following a very very predictable pattern and style of bland interview of our political class who are directly responsible for the continual crisis in our Health, Housing , Education and Environmental crises

RTÉ is not sufficiently impartial in its reporting on these and other issues.

  • Banal

What used to be a staple is now very occasional. It’s like watching a loved one with alzheimers disappear before your very eyes.

  • Excellent

David interviews very interesting guests covering various topics of interest. Short segments; he asks great questions and allows his guest to speak on their area of expertise.

  • RTE Lag Way Behind Newstalk

It’s been a few months since David McCullagh took over from Claire and it’s disappointing so far. McCullagh is a journeyman presenter like many but not good enough to present the flagship show. I have great difficulty believing that RTE are unable to find someone better. The production team are not helping with banal topics. Newstalk continues to lead.

  • Almost as bland as Claire Byrne

David needs to up his game remove his FFG hat and start taking a more balanced approach to his show. He is in grave danger of out blanding the bland previous version of this series!

Minister Norma Foley on creche prices and online safety for under 16's
Q: Does the minister think the Australian model of a social media ban could work in Ireland?
She is not opposed in principle but stresses that any approach must involve youth input and effective execution, with safeguards and a broader strategy that includes age verification and platform accountability.
Hull Funeral Director Sentencing
Q: Did the evidence provide insight into Bush's motivation—was this incompetence or financial gain, and what broader impact is felt in Hull?
The evidence suggests chaotic management and financial incentives, including debts to the city council related to crematorium services, with a broader impact of shock and anger across Hull as families confront the possibility that ashes they received were not theirs and that loved ones were not properly cremated or buried.
Hull Funeral Director Sentencing
Q: Angus, can you tell us first, who is Robert Bush? What has he admitted to?
Robert Bush is the 48-year-old founder of Legacy Independent Funeral Directors in Hull who admitted to 67 offenses over about a decade, including misallocating ashes, keeping bodies in storage for long periods, and failing to honor funeral plans and charitable donations.
40% decline in Netflix stock over the last year
Q: Is there any evidence that people are actually unsubscribing?
The guest explains that the share price drop reflects fear of slowing growth more than an outright decline in the business, and that Netflix's profitability remains strong, indicating the market's concern is about future expansion rather than current profitability.
Bank Holiday Road Safety
Q: What are you going to be doing this weekend?
Denis Ferry outlines a high-visibility enforcement operation across the country, with patrols and checkpoints focusing on the main risk factors like speeding, drink or drug driving, mobile phone use, and not wearing seatbelts.
