  • Pat the Great

I haven’t lived in Ireland for year so depend on Pat for authentic news and reviews, he is an island of truth in an ocean of misinformation, can’t wait for his weekend gig in March

  • Mid-sentence ads

The content of the podcasts is usually good but the frequency and placement of the ads makes them unbearable to listen to. A podcast might only be 5 or 6 minutes long but still have multiple ads, some of which are cut in to interrupt in the middle of a sentence. It displays a complete last of respect for the listener.

  • Blatantly Biased

Pat cannot hide his Trump derangement syndrome. 99.9% of his contributors on United States affairs are liberals. Whenever he (almost never) has a conservative on, they tend to be the least able to articulate their counter arguments. He couldn’t hold his own against a real conservative. Seems there are no conservatives in Europe. They’re ALL labeled far-right extremists.

His panels invariably consist of three liberals and no conservatives

    Zero balance.

  • Pat Is a Radio Legend

Pat brings sharp analysis. Henry McKean does not. Henry needs to find a new career path as he is not a reporter. He’s more of a detraction than an addition and damages the PK brand.

  • Ads nightmare

I really enjoy this show but the podcast segments are a disaster!! Recently, ads are thrown in - usually in the middle of a conversation (sometimes even a sentence). It’s so off putting. To make it worse the sound of the ads is far louder than the actual episode. Surely this can be sorted. It’s bad enough having to listen to the long ads at the start of each episode.

20 Years Since Charles Haughey's Death
Q: Do you think this was a person genuinely committed to public service, or primarily motivated by ego and power?

Miguel Delaney On The World Cup
Q: What are the host and the guest most concerned about regarding how the World Cup is being presented and supported by sponsors?
They discuss how hydration breaks are used for commercials, creating a tension between the live football experience and advertising, and they consider whether such sponsorship practices may erode the game's atmosphere, even as fans stay drawn to the competition's ongoing narratives.
Technology Reversing Paralysis

They implanted electrodes in the brain and patches on the arm and spinal cord, enabling signals from imagined movement to control muscles and restoring some movement and sensation in a paralyzed patient.

Luke explains his presence at the McGill Summer School, sets the stage for discussing the latest research on brain-computer interfaces and how these technologies could impact mobility and communication for people with paralysis.
