Coming a week after the Atlanta killing of six Women of Korean descent oft fetishised in popular fiction, from Full Metal Jacket to Miss Saigon. The other is a timely focus on western cultures preponderance of tropes that eroticise and reduce migrant women. Spare and succinct it’s a powerful fifteen minutes that could easily be fifty.
Great podcast for those who are fed up with how the media have been portraying migrants - a burden, an issue, people who are “other”.
To hear ten stories of people who are migrants but also artists and more importantly women and human beings negotiating their identity will be a fascinating experience. Can’t wait to listen to them all
