  • White privilege

Please, no more posh white guests! This does nothing to dispel the myth that psychotherapy is only accessible to wealthy middle class white people!

  • Excessive ads and amateur approach

The amount of ads is unbelievably excessive and interrupting. Makes me think of ‘by all cost financial’ motivation behind podcasts as such. The content itself appears to be quite shallow, especially compounded by deflated host’s personality who is seemingly disengaged from their audience.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Agony Aunties: Feeling Overwhelmed by the World?
Q: The question is, I feel permanently overwhelmed by the state of the world. Climate change, war, politics, this government's politics, the cost of living. I wake up anxious and carry a low level dredge most days. Part of me thinks I should stay informed and engaged, but another part feels emotionally exhausted by it all. How do I stay compassionate and aware without becoming consumed by fear and hopelessness?
The hosts discuss reducing overload by curating inputs, balancing information with meaningful actions, fostering connection, and cultivating agency in small, daily acts. They emphasize present-mocus strategies like focusing on what can be controlled, seeking community, and drawing on hopeful frameworks from activism literature to sustain resilience.
Celebration Day: Megan Jones on Grief, Loss and the Parents Who Shaped Her
Q: What is Celebration Day and why is it meaningful to you?
Celebration Day is a national moment to remember those who shaped our lives, and for me it connects deeply to my parents and the everyday rituals that keep their memory alive, like sharing a cup of tea and talking on car journeys.
Arit Anderson On Parkinson’s, Chelsea Flower Show And The Healing Power Of Gardens
Q: What is a particular challenge you are facing right now with Chelsea Flower Show?
The main challenge is securing funding and sponsor support, navigating the RHS design process, and coordinating an 18-month lead-up to transform a blank field into a fully realized garden while meeting tight timelines.
Agony Aunties: Why Do I Feel So Alone in My Grief?
Q: Hello, my Agony Aunties. We have a question about grief, which is, my husband died two years ago after a long and happy marriage. We didn't have children and I find myself deeply hurt that my siblings have not been there for me in the way I hoped. How do I handle this loneliness and disappointment in my family?
Acknowledges the pain and suggests examining communication with siblings, using assertive but non-confrontational language, and proposing specific ways they could show up. Emphasizes that loneliness is common after loss and that clear requests can help others understand what's needed.
Helen Fielding on Grief, Bridget Jones and Being Loved As You Are (LIVE)
Q: What has been the impact of Bridget on readers and viewers who are grieving, and how has that shaped your view of sharing personal loss publicly?
She notes that many people have found Bridget helpful in processing their own losses, which in turn makes sharing that experience feel meaningful and purposeful.
