  • Informative and inspiring

I’ve been listening to this podcast for over a year now and each week I listen to it and learn/ question something new! I think my wish list of book on Amazon has doubled due to all the books with we hear about. God is definitely highlighting the importance of asking questions and not always know the answers but putting your faith in Him.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Bette Dickinson - The Art of Vinemaking
Q: How do we counter that sense of anxiousness and unease when we're in a period of dormancy?
We can learn from Jesus' example of rest and withdrawal, normalizing these rhythms of rest as a natural part of life rather than something to be ashamed of.
Bette Dickinson - The Art of Vinemaking
Q: You've already kind of alluded to this sense of we live in a culture where the focus is on this productivity or on the fruit.
This focus on productivity emphasizes metrics of success, leading to burnout, whereas my experience with vine tending highlighted the importance of quality and nurturing roots over just producing fruit.
Bette Dickinson - The Art of Vinemaking
Q: How did that interest arise? What was the beginning of this journey for you?
The interest arose from a commissioned work where I wanted to learn from an actual vine dresser about the process of viticulture, which led me to discover how vine health relates to spiritual formation.
Mary Thomason - Does God Trust Women?
Q: How do you view the trustworthiness of women in the biblical narrative?
Mary argues that the story of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, symbolizes God's ultimate trust in women and serves as a critical narrative that empowers them.
Mary Thomason - Does God Trust Women?
Q: What are some reasons behind the topic that you've approached?
Mary discusses her fascination with trust and the burden of distrust women carry regarding the interpretation of scripture, which she believes affects their relationship with God.
