A music podcast featuring songs chosen to fit a different theme each episode. Great music, commentary, humor, plus a visit from my son Ian with a song from his own collection. Licensed with ASCAP, BMI and SESAC.

Great podcast. Interesting and creative concept to play songs all centered on a pre-selected theme. Always amazed at the diversity of Pat's musical tastes and depths of musical knowledge. You tell that he loves doing this. And the chats with his son Ian never fail to entertain. Come for the interesting music and you'll end up sticking around just to hear Pat's mesmerizing voice between songs.
No really. This is a great podcast with a warm and funny host who has a wealth of knowledge about music and musicians. His personal tastes run toward the Blues and Jazz side of things (as do my own) but he intentionally goes outside of those boundaries to ensure a balanced and enjoyable episode, every time.
And we haven't even mentioned his two sons that lend a hand and their own personalities as well as their own musical tastes to the mix. (Can you say Aquabats?)
I started at the end, and ha... more
If you like all kinds of music and discovering new favorites, this is the podcast for you! When my boys were younger and still a
captive audience, they enjoyed it as well. It became a game to see who could come up with the best songs to fit the next theme. I
have discovered so many artists I was unaware of or only marginally aware of before.
Update: In current episodes co-host Ian brings a young energy to the closing segment as well as a whole new set of songs. I am expanding my musical horizo... more
Themelounge is far and away my all-time favorite podcast, though it has sadly stopped production. Regardless, there are hours and hours of archived episodes here worth listening to. I guaranteed that Pat (& Alex) will play music that you like, while also turning you on to great music that you have not yet heard.
