  • Fun for any Star Trek Fan

I learned about this podcast from another Star Trek podcast and have just started exploring. I love that all the seasons they have focus on different topics. I’m currently listening to their first officers season and it is excellent! I love that they spend an entire episode on each first officer and site specific episodes they used in their discussion. As a long time Trekkie I’m officially hooked!

Special Release: As the Kids Say, “Relatable” (With Guest, Una McCormack)
Q: How do you balance canon with your own storytelling when writing Trek novels?
She describes negotiating with editors and license holders, tying in with current shows, and occasionally drawing on deep-cut details while maintaining a coherent personal narrative. The balance is achieved through a blend of strict editorial oversight and creative channels that allow room for new stories without contradicting established canon.
TOS: Romulans Never Skipped Leg Day (With Guest, Girafe)
Q: Who would be the best Romulan spy among the Original Series crew?
The group suggests Kirk for his diplomacy and rhetoric, but also considers Uhura's language skills and Spock's strategic mind, ultimately framing it as a thought experiment about infiltration rather than a definitive choice.

Q: What real-world court cases does Bob Cesca find intriguing in the context of Trek trials?
He cites Shelby v. Holder, Citizens United, and Bush v. Gore as significant decisions that shape modern politics, using them to reflect on how legal systems can drift or influence outcomes in Star Trek's fictional trials.
ENT Part I: A Talking To By Papa Archer (With Guest, Todd A. Davis)

Participants expressed great admiration for being part of the Star Trek universe, emphasizing the groundbreaking nature of the show and the diversity it represented.
