  • Fantastic!!

Love to listen to this after each episode! My only critique is that Alicia mentioned Julianne Moore as the lead in The House of Mirth (2000), but it was actually Gillian Anderson who played Lily Bart. I used to show the film to my students, because Edith Wharton was not on the American Lit curriculum, and I wanted to fit her in. Thank you for all of your expertise and knowledge!!

  • So Grateful For This Official Podcast

Alicia and Tom are the PERFECT podcast hosts. Please bring them back for Season 4!!!

I loved watching The Guilded Age on HBOMax but I wouldn’t have enjoyed it nearly as much without this official podcast airing weekly after each episode. I believe this podcast played a big part in ma... more

  • Offensive sponsorship from Sen. Cornyn

This podcast is of course a delight as usual, but it was really shocking to hear the lies and spin doctoring of an ad for Senator Cornyn from Texas. The ad praised Cornyn and the 47th president for passing the so called Big Beautiful Bill. It would be wise for the podcast producers to pay attention and filter out sponsors who are directly opposed to the underlying warnings of the power and greed of the ultra wealthy featured the Gilded Age.
