  • Hmmm

I really love this podcast but I wish the host (not sure if it’s the same every time, just listened to the Juliet Jacques episode) didn’t put such a little girl voice on, it detracts from what she is saying! Also she asks some questions which are just bizarrely blunt - ‘do you get scared of dying alone’ when JJ says she is single
 really?!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Opening up a can of worms with ASH SARKAR
Q: Why do you think the left should engage with media debates, even if they're uncomfortable or controversial?
Because media debates shape public perception and can shift the political playing field; engaging allows left ideas to enter the mainstream, while also exposing tactics used to entertain rather than educate.
Opening up a can of worms with ASH SARKAR
Q: You described Marxism as a practical framework rather than pure theory. How should listeners apply these ideas in everyday activism?
By prioritizing collective action, identifying concrete ways to impact people's lives, and avoiding overemphasis on individual grievances; focus on building durable campaigns with shared aims and cross-identity solidarity.
Opening up a can of worms with FARIHA ROISIN
Q: How did you begin thinking about wellness in such a political way?
RĂłisĂn attributes her motivation for justice and awareness of societal inequity to her upbringing and experiences, which are reflected in her writing.
Opening up a can of worms with FARIHA ROISIN
Q: How does money mess with your intuition or does it?
RĂłisĂn discusses how her financial status has affected her mental clarity and self-care practices, especially in relation to societal pressures.
Opening up a can of worms with LYNNE TILLMAN
Q: When you write new work, do you personally try and not date your work? Is that something that you're thinking about?
I usually do not date the work, unless I feel it's necessary for context or theme.
