  • Lev good, Take Spears

I enjoy this podcast and Lev is wonderful. Very balanced. He doesn’t sugarcoat things but he also doesn’t bash everything. I wish I could say the same thing about Justin Spears. I don’t know if he owes something to Brennan or what but he prefers the “rah rah” reporting as opposed to actual reporting. I don’t need you to bash Brennan (although warranted) but his constant making excuses for him is getting old. I often don’t make it through the emote podcast because of it.

  • Never say Fisch again

Read Lev column today on the guy who’s in Washington now who had Noah Fifita on the bench behind de Laura. An injury saved the Stanford game and the season for Arizona.

Best podcast for Arizona fans by far.

  • Can’t hear

I don’t know what’s going on with Justin Spears microphone but I cannot hear him at all. Then up the volume and Lev is blasting through the speakers. For being an audio show you would think that’s important. And I WANT to hear the podcast. Please fix it! Been like this for a bit.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Wildcast, Episode 564: Arizona men's basketball spring roster breakdown
Q: Who are the likely additions or replacements for the power forward spot?
Possible paths include returning Karchenkov to the four, adding a European post presence, or adding a portal player like Devin Williams, with plan A/B/C depending on Peat's decision.
The Wildcast, Episode 564: Arizona men's basketball spring roster breakdown
Q: What is the timeline for Koa Peat's decision and how does it affect Arizona's roster?
The timeline centers around the NBA draft combine and subsequent decisions; if Peat stays in the draft, Arizona looks to fill the void with portal additions or European recruits, and if he returns, Arizona could push into the top five in early projections for next season.
The Wildcast, Episode 561: Caitlin Lowe drops by to talk all things Arizona softball
Q: Is pitching a problem in college softball; why do ERAs seem up nationally?
ERAs are a bit higher across the board due to a combination of a smaller strike zone being called, better hitting and training, and teams facing top-tier competition more frequently, which collectively raises the numbers even as pitchers remain highly skilled.
The Wildcast, Episode 556: Reviewing Becky Burke's first season and previewing Arizona softball's series at No. 2 Texas Tech
Q: What are the biggest needs for the team in the portal?
Arizona should prioritize a big who can rebound and defend, add a versatile wing with scoring ability, and evaluate depth across the roster to reduce foul risk and maintain energy on both ends of the floor.
The Wildcast, Episode 556: Reviewing Becky Burke's first season and previewing Arizona softball's series at No. 2 Texas Tech
Q: What is a realistic record for Becky's team in 2026-27?
Aiming for around .500 or a touch above, given the improved non-conference schedule and recent close conference games; the expectation is that the program can take a step forward with roster stability and continued development of the freshmen and returning players.
