  • For Listener Experience — Editing Matters!

The April 24, 2025 episode was recommended to me, but I simply couldn’t get through it with all of the distractions and detractors: noise and repeated sirens in the background for extended periods, speaker cross-talk, hard-to-follow topic through-line, etc. Please consider that there is more to podcast quality than good microphones and snazzy soundbites. Guess I’ll just read the transcript…

Here comes System 3: a theory of artificial cognition
Q: Is System 3 just a buzzword, or does it represent a real shift in how brands should operate with AI?
System 3 offers a framework where AI contributes to human decision making, suggesting brands can leverage AI-based cognition to inform strategic choices while remaining responsible for outcomes.
WARC Rankings 2026: Dove's 'Real Beauty' wins the Effective 100
Q: Do you have a favorite Real Beauty campaign from the last 20 years and why?
Camera Shy is frequently referenced for its simplicity and powerful impact, letting women's voices carry the message with minimal words, which often proves the most persuasive.
WARC Rankings 2026: Dove's 'Real Beauty' wins the Effective 100
Q: What is the secret to creating work that lasts for 20 years and remains effective across changing media landscapes?
The secret is an agile idea that functions as a platform—enduring yet adaptable to time and culture, which allows campaigns to provoke discussion and drive real change without losing the core purpose.
Implications of the Gulf energy crisis
Q: So let's start with best case. What may happen in that situation, and what impact might we see on ad spend?
The baseline scenario assumes a short-lived shock with a temporary spike in oil prices and no long-term disruption, leading to a modest 0.2 percentage point drag on global GDP and a roughly half-point rise in inflation, with some sectors like travel feeling sharper effects but overall still tracking close to the 10.4% global growth rate.
The Effective CMO: AIA's Stuart A. Spencer
Q: Jenny: Why did you decide to take on health stereotypes in your Rethink Healthy campaign?
Stuart explains that Asia is facing a health crisis amid rapid wealth growth, and traditional insurance marketing—fear-based and cookie-cutter—fails to move people toward healthier behaviors. They chose a data-driven, provocative approach to redefine what healthy means and to engage a billion people by making health inclusive, accessible, and achievable, while tying it to a broader mission beyond profit.
