  • AI AI AI.. x100

I really enjoyed this show in the past but recently all the episodes are about AI. Normally, I would be interested in hearing different opinions about venture capital and AI but one of the hosts is so brainwashed by AI that the whole episodes are him scaremongering. Some of the takes are so wild that it sounds like listening to some science fiction audiobook. The interviews are better but I can’t really recommend.

  • . Super bad.

In the beginning, I used to think that 20 VC is an awesome podcast. Not anymore. Take for example, one of the most recent episodes with the fiverr CEO. No content, emotionally, bombastic, full of curses. Not much to learn. Just opinionated people who act like preteen kids… who needs that in 2025?

Update Jan 2026: just getting worse and worse. All big money corporate. Forget 20vc.

  • Remove Jason

Like the show. Rory is great on the weekly market show. Lemkin is awful. Last 3 months all he says is AI replaces people. Guy runs an events business who’s website doesn’t even work🤦‍♂️ probably vibe codes it

20Sales: Inside Figma's $1BN ARR Revenue Machine | Why We Do Not Have Customer Success or SDRs | Why I Do Not Believe in Sales Quotas with Shaunt Voskanian, CRO @ Figma
Q: How do you determine quotas and incentive structure given your belief that quotas can be 'made up'?
Quotas exist, but the focus should be on purpose and the work to be done; aim for aggressive, rewarding quotas when the work is strategic, but remain flexible and grounded in actual field experience and performance framework based on behaviors and competencies.
20Sales: Inside Figma's $1BN ARR Revenue Machine | Why We Do Not Have Customer Success or SDRs | Why I Do Not Believe in Sales Quotas with Shaunt Voskanian, CRO @ Figma
Q: What piece of advice would you give to a founder with a PLG motion on intercept timing?
Intercept earlier than later is usually better, as long as you have a solid understanding of product signals and potential upgrade paths; it often takes a couple of iterations to convince the customer and close upgrades, so stay proactive.
20VC: Inside Accel's $4BN Growth Investing Machine | Cursor is Dead is Total BS: Here is Why | What Missing Rippling and ElevenLabs Taught Us | Are $2BN-$10BN IPOs Dead | Why Now is a Great Time to be Thoma Bravo with Miles Clements
Q: Now, I want to start with the core question that I think every investor is thinking about, which is how do we ascertain true value in an AI world where technology seems so transient and revenue seems so endurable?
There's a useful framework for evaluating AI companies: look at time to value and durability of the value. Different AI categories will have different deployment cycles and durability profiles, with some providing quick value (coding tools) and others taking longer to prove their ongoing impact (legal/accounting AI). The durable value—the lock-in—drives long-term growth.
20VC: Why the SaaS Apocalypse is BS | Why China Will Win the AI War | Why 50% of VCs Should Not Exist and are Tourists | Why Stock-Based Comp is the Hidden Sin of the Valley with Mitchell Green, Lead Edge Capital
Q: Why do you think China could win the AI race?
China's advantages include power infrastructure, access to vast talent, resources, and a culture that accelerates scientific and technological development; this combination could yield faster progress in AI deployment and innovation relative to the West in certain areas.
20VC: Why the SaaS Apocalypse is BS | Why China Will Win the AI War | Why 50% of VCs Should Not Exist and are Tourists | Why Stock-Based Comp is the Hidden Sin of the Valley with Mitchell Green, Lead Edge Capital
Q: How do you think about liquidity and exits in a market with 'casinoized' public markets?
Liquidity windows open and close; to manage DPI, funds should prune positions and return capital to LPs through secondary sales and selective exits, while continuing to back entrepreneurs with potential for future public listings.
