  • Exceptional interviews

Jasmine is an excellent interviewer, always prepared with history and current context. Crucially, she features a very diverse set of speakers which enable me to gain perspectives I do not normally receive via other media sources. Her human-centric focus is very needed in this current world. Looking forward to season 2 soon.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The World Cup That Shut Out The World: Trump, Infantino and the politics of sports.
Q: What does this World Cup reveal about sports diplomacy and host nation politics?
It shows that mega-events can become battlegrounds for broader policy issues, where immigration, border enforcement, and national image can overshadow the athletic competition and strain the idea of sport as a universal unifier.
High Stakes Summit: Trump, Xi, and a changing world
Q: How might this summit affect Taiwan policy in the near to mid term?
Official policy may stay the same, but precedents set by Trump and the administration could influence what is considered acceptable dialogue or actions, potentially signaling a gradual shift rather than a formal change in policy.
High Stakes Summit: Trump, Xi, and a changing world
Q: What would a successful trip look like in practical terms for the administration and global markets?
A successful outcome would be a non-eventful meeting with modest deliverables, extension of trade truce, and coordinated actions to reduce regional tensions such as the Iran situation and the Strait of Hormuz.
High Stakes Summit: Trump, Xi, and a changing world
Q: What can world leaders learn from how Xi has handled Trump, and what tactics are effective or risky when engaging with him?
Flattery can work but risks exploitation if overdone; strength and clear red lines, balanced with recognition of Xi's leverage in technology and economy, tend to yield more durable engagement.
Trump, Starmer and the Special Relationship: What a UK Ambassador Really Thinks
Q: What is the UK's optimal role in the post-Ukraine and post-Iran War landscape?
The UK should maintain a leadership role in defense and diplomacy, keep a robust voice on climate and multilateralism, and engage more actively with partners to shape policy rather than merely following US positions.
