Fat man was plutonium.
I don’t even know what to say other than to say than as soon as I finish the episode, I’m eagerly awaiting for the next. I wish you guys posted more.
I was listening to another podcast and someone name dropped Jake’s in relation to Iran during Obama’s time. And in my brain I was like OOH OOH I know who that is. And I felt super cool. Your episode is next in my queue and I want to listen to the current podcast at 2x lol. Keep up the good work. You ease my anxiety.
This podcast represents decades of experience, thoughtfulness, and a remarkable ability to frame various national security challenges in the context of not only what really happens and how decisions are made, but also the long-term perspectives on national security and the repercussions of decision-making. Very few podcasts come close to being as compelling as these hosts make complex matters.
This is a great geopolitics podcast. The hosts know their stuff and bring on very knowledgeable guests. I’m sad every time I have to wait another week for my fix of geopolitical crisis management.
These guys, and the people they interview, are awesome. Instead of some reporter (or talking head) telling us what they think is going on, these guys actually lived it under previous administrations (working in top National Security posts). They know their stuff, so their analysis and insight is unmatched. And then they bring on truly amazing and qualified people to ad to their knowledge. A truly unique and informative show. I have learned so much from them.

A weekly national security show hosted by two former high-level policymakers, offering in-depth, nonpartisan analysis of current global events and U.S. foreign policy. Episodes frequently center on Iran, U.S.-China relations, Middle East dynamics, and geopolitical risk, with a habit of pairing blue-team and red-team perspectives to illuminate trade-offs and uncertainties. Noteworthy are appearances by prominent guests, long-form policy reasoning, and a clear emphasis on practical implications for decision-makers and professionals in government, defense, and policy-adjacent fields. The format tends to balance rigorous analysis with accessible language, making complex topics approachable for informed listeners who want to understand how power... more
