Reviews

  • Normally very good

Bill Maher saying “ I don’t know “ was the only accurate thing he said. Normally, your guests are thoughtful and intelligent. They speak with knowledge and facts to back them up. They don’t speak in generalities and opinions with nothing to substantiate what they say. Except Maher. I’m surprised you had him as a guest since he contributed nothing.

  • Balance Would Be Great

There is no balance of viewpoints. It has become part of the echo chamber that infects all media. Not surprised given his affiliation with PBS but it is disappointing.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The UK a decade after Brexit, with Rory Stewart
Q: So ten years after Britain voted to leave, what is Brexit's real legacy?
Brexit's legacy is mixed—its promises of sovereignty and autonomy materialized in control over laws and borders, yet the economic costs, political instability, and shifting alignments suggest a Britain that is more complex and less clearly positioned in a rapidly changing global order.
Lebanon's best chance for peace, with Kim Ghattas
Q: Given the MOU and the ongoing Lebanon-Israel negotiations, what does a potential settlement look like and what are Lebanon's chances of achieving sovereignty without Hezbollah entrenched as a state within a state?
Ghattas argues that Lebanon must assert sovereignty through diplomacy and international support, while Hezbollah's disarmament is not feasible in the short term; the Lebanese state needs to build legitimacy and offer tangible benefits to communities that still support Hezbollah, leveraging international aid and political reform to crowd out the militia influence.
Lebanon's best chance for peace, with Kim Ghattas
Q: Sitting from your perch right now, who do you think actually has more leverage? Who is succeeding more or failing less in the war, the Americans or the Iranians?
Ghattas explains the situation is complex and uneven: Iran can inflict damage, especially economically, but is hampered by internal weaknesses and a struggling regional project, while the U.S. possesses firepower and broader influence but has not yet forced Iran to capitulate; the outcome depends on a mix of economic pressure, regional alliances, and diplomacy.
The future of the Democratic party, with Josh Shapiro
Q: What is the slogan the American people will hear if you are on the national stage?
He answers that he is running for reelection in Pennsylvania and emphasizes a record of economic growth, crime reduction, improved education, and a commitment to getting things done for the people of Pennsylvania, aiming to project a practical, results-oriented brand.
The future of the Democratic party, with Josh Shapiro
Q: Josh, if you don't mind, I want to turn to the home front for a little bit. What are the lessons the Democratic party should learn from the last election?
Shapiro argues the party should focus on delivering tangible results for families—economic growth, lower costs, safer communities, and high-quality education—while avoiding polarization and keeping a bipartisan, results-driven approach rooted in state-level success.
