  • Brilliant concept, brilliantly done

I stumbled across this podcast while looking for general health info. When I heard the intro to each episode, the belief that building muscle and health encourages the spread of plant-based diets, I smiled. How true and how clever that is. One major stumbling block of animal-friendly lifestyles is the perception of those who do them: wimpy, skinny, not robust. In reality, that isn't a fair perception, as being slim itself encourages robustness. But, the human brain has three-quarters of it... more

  • It’s ok

There is helpful info for beginners as well as people who need motivation and a sense of accountability. However, sometimes I find that Leif talks too much and is repetitive. May 1st episode, it would have been better to go back and forth with tips than just listen to him the entire time. On the other hand, when he is doing interviews, he has little engagement rather he just goes on to the next question instead of genuinely responding with interest.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Menopause Masterclass Every Woman Needs
Q: Is walking enough for health, or should women focus on resistance training as well?
Walking is beneficial but not sufficient alone for maintaining muscle and bone health. To build or preserve lean mass and bone density, incorporating resistance training—whether with bodyweight, bands, or weights—along with adequate protein intake and proper recovery, is essential for functional health and independence in later years.
The Menopause Masterclass Every Woman Needs
Q: What other roles are estrogen and progesterone playing in the body beyond reproduction?
Estrogen and progesterone act as total body hormones with widespread effects on brain health, sleep, mood, bone remodeling, fat distribution, cardiovascular health, and inflammation, meaning their decline during menopause can influence multiple organ systems and overall health trajectories.
The Menopause Masterclass Every Woman Needs
Q: What actually changes during the menopause cycle that women need to take very seriously?
Menopause involves shifts in estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone that drive changes in body composition, brain function, and long-term disease risk. These hormone transitions influence fat distribution, bone density, cardiovascular risk, and sleep, so a proactive, multi-domain approach is needed rather than treating it as a single symptom.
If You’re a Woman 30–50, Listen to This Before It’s Too Late
Q: How early can perimenopause start and how should women begin monitoring changes?
Perimenopause can begin in the late 30s to early 40s; tracking menstrual cycles, sleep, mood, and stress, plus talking with healthcare providers early, helps identify changes and plan for the transition.
If You’re a Woman 30–50, Listen to This Before It’s Too Late
Q: What are the common misconceptions women have about their health in their 30s and 40s?
Women often feel they are in maintenance mode and can 'coast' on their 20s routines, but this is actually a time to optimize metabolic, bone, brain, and heart health to start from a higher baseline for later years.
