  • A fantastic show

Came here by suggestion of MDC, and even though I’m not anywhere near the South, I love the show. I genuinely appreciate the updates you give on the status of laborers and unions; I’ve truly learned a lot. In a time of great anxiety, y’all provide a needed source of hope and ideas for a better, more equitable future. Keep doing the good work informing and helping people realize collective action and the power labor can wield through unions! Solidarity and support from the left coast ✊

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Knox County Governor Candidate Beau Hawk Interview & Alabama Session Update - TVLR 4/4/26
Q: What powers does the Knox County mayor have to implement your agenda?
Hawk explains that while the mayor's power is limited in some aspects, the role is influential as the convenor of key stakeholders and as the initial budget setter, which can shape the direction of county policies and investments, with emphasis on labor-community coalition-building and targeted infrastructure planning.
Knox County Governor Candidate Beau Hawk Interview & Alabama Session Update - TVLR 4/4/26
Q: Why are you running for mayor of Knox County?
Beau Hawk argues that Knox County is experiencing rapid growth that is harming working families through rising rents and inadequate infrastructure, and he wants to lead a administration that prioritizes workers' interests, improves planning, and builds a local economy that benefits the people who live there rather than outside investors.
OVERTIME: Trump Tells Working Families to Pound Sand, He Needs Money for War - TVLR 4/4/26
Q: How would you fund child care while maintaining national security commitments?
The discussion emphasizes redirecting resources toward domestically productive investments (infrastructure, education) rather than expanding the war economy, arguing for a balanced approach that protects workers while ensuring national security.
OVERTIME: Trump Tells Working Families to Pound Sand, He Needs Money for War - TVLR 4/4/26
Q: If you win in November, can you commit to prioritizing legislation to make child care affordable?
The guest answers affirm that child care is essential and should be funded, arguing that universal or broadly accessible child care would require prioritizing domestic needs alongside defense.
Mercedes Settles NLRB Case, UAW Continues the Fight - TVLR 3/14/26
Q: Mercedes just agreed to a settlement with the NLRB; what is in the settlement, and why does the UAW consider it insufficient?
The settlement outlines what Mercedes will not do (no interference with rights, no retaliation, posting requirements, etc.), but it does not fully address the pattern of violations during the campaign, and key issues such as whether the election was tainted or if a revote is warranted remain unresolved. The guest argues that significant misconduct occurred and that remedies are insufficient to restore a fair election process.
