  • An Important Voice

Local newspapers have evolved into high priced kitty litter lining. Tennessee’s supermajority has created representatives who are proud of their ability to ignore the wishes of their constituents. God bless this podcast. It’s an important voice that is too often silenced in the state. Keep up the good work!!

  • More!

So sad to see that podcasts are few and far between. Since Democracy is declining under Supermajority GOP, the Tennessee Holler staff is at greater risk to call out the injustices rampant in our legislature.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Angela Wynn, State Senate Candidate (Rutherford County)
Q: Where can people learn more about your campaign?
People can connect with me as a neighbor who wants to be their lobbyist in the Capitol, and I encourage folks in District 13 to support local candidates who align with community needs and work to elect them.
Angela Wynn, State Senate Candidate (Rutherford County)
Q: What are your thoughts on the racially charged mailer and the broader ideological climate?
The mailer reflects white nationalist dog whistles, and reacting to it shows how deeply ingrained racism is in political messaging. It underscores the importance of connecting policy to real-world impacts and resisting extremist rhetoric.
Angela Wynn, State Senate Candidate (Rutherford County)
Q: What is your view on LGBTQ rights and how the state party approaches them?
As a queer woman, I believe in equal rights for all, and no one should be judged for who they love. The current approach is divisive and used to rally a base, which I oppose and want to change by voting out those causes of division.
Angela Wynn, State Senate Candidate (Rutherford County)
Q: Where do you stand on vouchers and school privatization?
I helped lead the charge against vouchers, and while we won the first time, the fight continues with calls for accountability and clarity on where funds go and who benefits, ensuring private options don't undermine public schools.
Angela Wynn, State Senate Candidate (Rutherford County)
Q: What made you decide to run for State Senate?
I had been doing advocacy work in Rutherford County, especially around public schools, and realized there were broader issues I cared about. When I learned the seat was open, I raised my hand and decided to run to push for accountability and stronger public schools.
