  • Delivery needs work. She uptalks and is breathless. Also, 12 minutes of ads is ridiculous.

Dr. Brooke Show #459 - Q&As Part II: HRT, Progesterone Cycling + More
Q: How should progesterone be cycled when a patient is still cycling vs. when she isn't?
If still cycling, start progesterone on day 14 (ovulation window) and take it for about two weeks until the bleed, adjusting if ovulation timing changes. If not cycling, pick a two-week window (e.g., calendar month day 1 to day 14) and use that as the cycle, continuing for two weeks on, two weeks off, with flexibility if cycles shift.
Dr. Brooke Show #457 HRT + Joint Pain, Irregular Bleeding, Indigestion & More
Q: Hi, I'm on estrogen and progesterone, but every night I'm dealing with horrible nausea. What could be causing this and what should I test or adjust?
Nausea is likely driven by estrogen detox and histamine pathways rather than the progesterone itself in many cases. Consider evaluating histamine load, gut health, and estrogen metabolism (Dutch test looking at metabolites like 2-OH, 4-OH, 16-OH). Also assess whether symptoms align with estrogen dosing changes and explore whether progesterone timing or cycling could be contributing. A broader check of thyroid, cortisol, and inflammation is helpful since these hormones can interact with HRT.
Dr. Brooke Show #455 What Women Get Wrong With Magnesium
Q: Why is magnesium so important for hormone health and sleep?
Magnesium is a foundational cofactor for many enzymatic reactions that affect energy production, nerve function, and hormonal regulation; when levels are optimized, sleep quality and mood can improve, which in turn supports better hormonal balance.
Dr Brooke Show #432 PCOS + Perimenopause Q&A
Q: How should I address my symptoms if I suspect I have PCOS but don't fit all the traditional symptoms?
PCOS can manifest differently across body types, so it's crucial to speak with your doctor about your specific symptoms and pursue thorough testing. Consider interventions that may help, regardless of a formal diagnosis, focusing on nutrition and lifestyle changes that benefit metabolic health.
Dr Brooke Show #422 Gut Health + Hormones Q&A
Q: If you have an autoimmune disease like Hashimoto's and you have leaky gut, which one do you go after to heal first?
Typically, starting with the gut is beneficial, but it requires a comprehensive approach addressing all factors.
