  • Uninspired, catered to male runners, terrible interviewing skills

As a female runner, I found a lot of the content to be really not geared towards considering that women are different in their hormonal needs, etc, and it felt quite ignorant in some comments. I also listened to the UTMB winners interview, and it sounds like the guys have never even researched or read even an article about ultra trail running. Their questions were also quite ignorant and repeated questions that the winners also already answered. In all, I have no idea why this has the ratings it... more

  • The ‘mansplaining’ episode 🙄

Well I’ve heard some feminist rubbish in the past but this is the best example - men and women are totally different & clearly they don’t like men.

  • Work on the form as well as the content

Poor content with nothing really deep or instructive but what’s worse is that you can get an ad between a question and an answer which is huge disrespect to both the speaker and the listener

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ultra women: Lily Canter and Emma Wilkinson
Q: What surprised you most while researching?
The depth of sexism that still exists, the lack of female-focused sports science, and the way gender norms influence participation from childhood into adulthood, all of which underscored the need for more inclusive research and coverage.
Ultra women: Lily Canter and Emma Wilkinson
Q: What did you find about the role of media and the narrative around women in sport?
Media often underrepresents women's achievements and sometimes frames successes as anomalies, which the authors argue contributes to ongoing barriers and the sense that women must prove themselves more than men do.
Ultra women: Lily Canter and Emma Wilkinson
Q: Straight in. Why did you write this book?
We wanted to explore why there were so few women in endurance racing, to document their stories, and to challenge the persistent myths about women's capabilities by presenting science, history, and first-hand experiences from elite and everyday athletes.
Harry Clark: The greatest Traitor talks running, fighting stereotypes and faith
Q: What else do you want to achieve in this kind of athletic world?
I'd love to do an Ironman after the marathon, particularly because I enjoy swimming.
Harry Clark: The greatest Traitor talks running, fighting stereotypes and faith
Q: Can we talk a bit about your faith?
My faith plays a crucial role in my life, guiding my decisions and helping me through challenges.
