  • Ross Kaminsky Show

I really enjoy Ross’ show, and rarely miss one of his podcasts. He covers a wide variety of topics, with guests- who are subject matter experts in their field, for conversation on matters of local and national interest. Ross is opinionated, but not so strident that he can’t listen to and appreciate the ideas of others. He’s self deprecating, has a good sense of humor, and brings a smile to my face each day.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

2-27-26 *INTERVIEW* ADM James Stavridis Talks the Current State of US-Iran Nuclear Negotiations
Q: What is the strategic path if a deal is pursued—what role could military options play?
He suggests a limited, rapid strike could push Iran back to the table, followed by a measured cooling-off and then a longer-term diplomatic process, while insisting against any ground invasion.
2-27-26 *INTERVIEW* ADM James Stavridis Talks the Current State of US-Iran Nuclear Negotiations
Q: Should we even want a deal with Iran, or should we just deal with them?
Stavridis argues that a deal is ultimately in the US interest given Iran's size, resources, and capabilities, but stresses that it may require a mix of diplomacy and calibrated military pressure to compel serious negotiations.
3-4-26 *INTERVIEW* Common Hospital Billing Traps with Peter Pitts
Q: If you had to choose maybe one question that listeners should always ask when dealing with hospital visits or costs, what should that question be?
Ask why am I getting this test and demand to understand its necessity and whether it is in-network or covered by insurance, then press for clarity on each step of the decision process.
2-27-26 *INTERVIEW* Alan Roach Sharing His Experiences at the Milano Cortina 2026 Games
Q: What was it like for you to be at the Olympics and see the USA win gold in both men's and women's hockey?
It was a tremendous honor and an amazing experience; even though I didn't participate in the medal games this time, being part of the Olympic environment and eventually returning home to the fanfare and memories was incredibly meaningful.
3-4-26 *INTERVIEW* Elliott Ackerman 'The Case Against the War'
Q: Do you think there is a potential outcome that could be framed as success that looks more like Venezuela, rather than like the French Revolution, by which I mean a government that's kind of sort of the same, but with people who are a little more compliant?
Ackerman acknowledges a historical model where the outcome could resemble a restructured but still authoritarian regime and notes the difficulty of achieving a genuinely liberal democracy as a result of intervention, highlighting the risk of regime resilience and regional instability.
