Listening to the unmistakable voices of Steve and Jo just catapults me back to that halcyon period 1993-1996 when I left home in a small nowhere town to go to a big city university and discover the world. Without being over-nostalgic, it really was the best of times and it felt like the world was there for the taking for so many of us - and the music of the britpop era was the impetus and soundtrack to our entire generation.
