  • Please boycott these pro AI coaches

They full on admit to using Chat GPT and AI for coaching. People who use this team, what are you even doing?

  • Information is great

I appreciate all the different perspectives and nitty gritty details. I can do without the female host who uses the phrase “ I feel like ….” Just stop saying “I feel like “ and make the statement. You lose credibility repeating that phrase time and time again.

  • Moist?

Painful to listen to. The lack of professionalism is terrible. This is supposed to be helping the audience improve their fitness and health not an outlet for your bedroom preferences and anxiety. Please more practical and focused podcasts like the ones about training, eating right, mindset and competition not so much rambling.

  • Love the practical topics!

The latest one on macros with Sarah & Ben was fantastic! Specific, practical ideas. I love all the simple tips like GHughes terriyaki & sweet chili sauce or freezing things to take when flying. Those may be common knowledge to bodybuilders but not something I have ever heard. There’s a different mindset among competitors that can be really helpful to lifestyle clients like me.

Sometimes I skip a lot of the show’s chit-chat trying to find actionable info. This episode sounded like there was an ... more

  • Loved the mental health episodes/ Paul and Danika

This show put words to my personal experience with body building. I started this sport when I was 55, and can’t believe it took me this long to find it! For my whole life, I’ve criticized my physique and tried to make it look like a cardio bunny. (Thin legs, waif like, some tone) likely because I’m a product of the 80’s. Think super models😊Body building celebrates my curves, my bigger legs, my hourglass figure. It has become part of my identity, and I’ve only competed once. But I still consider... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 430: What You Can't Measure May Matter Most
Q: Okay. Awesome. So I would love for our listeners to get to know you, and you can start anywhere that you want. But tell me more about you, I guess, like where did you grow up and how did you get started in the fitness health world?
Adam describes a journey from playing college basketball to discovering exercise science while seeking to understand the field more deeply; his path included experiences with physical therapy, a shift toward auto-regulation and psychology in training, and eventual roles as a researcher and online coach, highlighting the importance of mentorship, funding, and choosing a program based on fit and community.
Episode 421: How Long Should You Stay in a Building Phase? | Q&A
Q: What's the minimum amount of time you should spend in a growth season to see changes?
Progress depends on whether you are natural or enhanced, but a common theme is that growth requires deliberate training intensity, consistent nutrition, and a mindful reverse strategy; many coaches emphasize starting the reverse before the season ends and staying committed to a growth trajectory rather than chasing short, rapid changes.
Episode 408: Glutes, Growth & Goodbyes: Competition Prep Q&A
Q: What advice for athletes doing back-to-back shows?
Plan show-day meals and follow a daily check-in routine; ensure you're not training hard on show days, focus on pacing and appearance from the first show to the second, and adjust as needed based on how the physique looks on day one.
Episode 408: Glutes, Growth & Goodbyes: Competition Prep Q&A
Q: What is the ideal body fat percentage for a building phase?
The coaches discuss that there isn't a precise universal body fat percentage; instead, emphasis is placed on how hard it will be to reach stage from the current point, individual hormonal balance, and comfort with training, with many favoring a lean look that still preserves athleticism.
Episode 399: Science vs. Social Media: Glute Training with Bret Contreras
Q: How lean do you need to get to see how much muscle you actually have in the glutes, and how does intramuscular fat affect appearance?
Getting stage-leanness can reveal true muscle development, as fat masks muscularity; leaner individuals may reveal density changes and variations in intramuscular fat, which can alter the perceived shape and fullness of the glutes.
