  • A weekly must listen

Having been involved in NYC CRE lending for over 20 years - there were certain staples that you need to read to know what was going on if you want to be in “the game” The Promote podcast and newsletter is a must read/listen and more importantly the show note articles help the narrative. This is the 2025 Lois Weiss and Charles Bagli intel in a listenable format.

Nice job fella’s. As a small fry Midwestern real estate investment company it’s informative and entertaining to listen to you guys talk … it’s like I’m sitting at the table next to the two of you at aNew York pizza place - feels like I should sign a NDA to keep listening.

  • CRE Without the Pablum

The Promote is where intelligence meets irreverence. Hiten Samtami & Will Krasne don’t just cover CRE, they dissect it with rigor and narrative wit. It’s not limited to cap stacks and covenants, its power personalities, and the chutzpah that shapes skylines. This is a must listen for anyone seeking substance without the typical pablum.

  • Raucous, Essential

Barbarians at the Gate x Gossip Girl x Matt Levine’s Money Stuff.

The wonkiness, behind the scenes stories, and topical coverage of the most important (and fun) stories in CRE make the Promote must listen/read material for vets and newbies alike.

Forget water cooler, this is CRE’s end of the bar.

  • Essential Listening for CRE

Smart, topical, concise, well-crafted and highly entertaining - without the usual pandering to the industry players. It’s exactly the real estate podcast I’ve been looking for. I’m shocked at how good this podcast was right out of the gate. It arrived fully formed. Very impressive.

Q: How did the loophole come about?
The loophole showed up and then it was closed quickly after people started using it, as folks figured it out following the PFC model.
