  • Low quality

Petro is nearly intolerable with his combination of arrogance and ignorance. He is regularly rude to callers and even to guests who challenge him, which is the mark of a small, diffident person. He regularly misunderstand and misrepresents a person’s argument to make it sound weaker and he seems incapable of understanding basic reasoning and logic.

  • The Place for Chiefs News.

I listen to The Program to get the Chiefs news. I have listened to Soren Petro for quite sometime. I like his perspective on things. He is well thought out on his opinions and I like the selection of guests on his show. The only segments I skip are the “Stump the Chumps” segments since I’m not a real fan of sports trivia. I like the rest of The Program content.

  • Best in Kansas City

No one does a better job of staying impartial to local schools! Soren and Kurtis are a fantastic listen, and the definition of consistency. Great job to the entire crew that puts the show together!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

H4 N2K, Sam Khan Jr., The Kicker
Q: What role does NIL money play in these rankings and the perceived value of players?
NIL pay is real but highly opaque and inconsistent; we can discuss ranges and likely pay, but there is no centralized public data, so there will always be outliers and variability based on boosters, program budgets, and perceived market demand.
H4 N2K, Sam Khan Jr., The Kicker
Q: How do you handle the difference between college performance and potential at the next level?
We explicitly clarify that this is a college quarterback ranking, not a draft projection, and we weigh college-specific traits and performance in context of their collegiate system and supporting cast, understanding that predicting NFL success is not the same as ranking for college performance.
H4 N2K, Sam Khan Jr., The Kicker
Q: How difficult is it to put together quarterback rankings for this many players?
It's a complex process that blends in-person evaluations, conversations with dozens of coaches and scouts from different conferences, and a tiered framework to manage the sheer volume, though consensus at the very top can be strong, while debates intensify as you move down the list.
H3 Blair Kerkhoff's Big XII Coach Rankings!
Q: How do you weigh a coach's past success against the potential of newcomers who show promise but lack a long resume?
He argues that there needs to be a balance between proven performance and upside, with an emphasis on head‑coaching trajectory, recruiting strength, and the ability to finish seasons strongly.
H3 Blair Kerkhoff's Big XII Coach Rankings!
Q: So who do you have ranked at the top, and what distinguishes your top pick from the rest?
Blair explains his top pick is Kalani Satake at BYU due to his track record with quarterback development and overall program consistency, while noting BYU's unique advantages and the challenge of projecting future success in a 16‑team league.
