  • I love Jason, Josh, Beards

I started listening to the Zone because I needed a Kansas City radio show to listen to, and I was familiar with Josh from the Postgame shows on 810. I really enjoy Jason as a host, and I think they do a great job talking about the sporting events that people want to hear about!

  • Why does Jason shout so much?

Because he thinks it makes what he’s saying is funny.

    Epic fail.

  • Needs more variety of guests

Show kinda feels stale without more guests. Love when Field Yates comes on, and miss Mitch Holthus. More insiders would make this show better, as it is I skip it more often than not.

  • Not worth your time

This show is 100% dependent on great national guests. Otherwise it’s a 10-2pm black hole featuring the classic sports talk pitfalls of tired forced humor. The host could be tolerable but doesnt add anything really substantive to offset the personality. Not clear why he was 810’s choice for mid day since the other two shows are fantastic. I’m still scratching my head on this hire.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Kent Swanson talking Chiefs! - Hour 4
Q: Do you think the Chiefs were priced out of the edge market, and how does that affect their draft approach?
Swanson explains that the Chiefs likely priced themselves out of the top edge players due to high APYs, suggesting that this pushes them toward a draft-focused plan to address the edge position later, while still aiming for a capable contributor upfront.
Vinnie Pasquantino WBC Presser + Travis Kelce Return! - Hour 3
Q: What point did you know for sure you were coming back?
He knew midway through the season after considering emotions, stepping back, and getting a clear head before committing.
Dan Harms, Mick Shaffer, Bracket of Sound & more! Hour 3 & 4
Q: What makes the Chiefs' trade for Justin Fields a sensible move given the price tag and contract impact?
The trade is viewed as a low-cost, short-term option that provides a younger backup quarterback who can be developed behind Mahomes, with potential future value if the player grows into a longer-term solution or is used in creative packages.
Les Norman on World Baseball Classic & Maxx Crosby Comments! - Hour 2
Q: Can the lessons from this World Baseball Classic translate to the regular season for players like Michael Garcia and the Royals?
Les Norman suggested that the experience could translate, but cautioned that the long MLB season is a different pace; the emotional energy and the lessons about clutch performance and leadership could boost confidence and leadership within the Royals, benefiting them as the season unfolds.
Les Norman on World Baseball Classic & Maxx Crosby Comments! - Hour 2
Q: So let me ask you from a former player's perspective, what stood out about the World Baseball Classic this year?
Les Norman emphasized how the tournament captured intense emotion and a playoff vibe, with players like the Royals contributing significantly, which made the event feel more impactful than typical spring training and elevated how fans connected with the sport.
