Dr. Weiner is incredibly smart and has dedicated much of his professional life to helping and educating people about the disease of obesity. He is compassionate, honest and most importantly a student of the science. He does an exceptional job of relaying the science to the listener. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 82: It's Not Willpower: Brain Science Proves Your Weight Struggle Is Neurological (And Fixable) with Dr. Steve Rondeau
Q: What about at-home wearables and real-time brain data—could they change how we manage weight loss and mental health?
Wearables and real-time data can play a role, but data quality matters; the challenge is ensuring data is clean and translatable into meaningful clinical actions, with real-time monitoring guiding personalization.
Episode 82: It's Not Willpower: Brain Science Proves Your Weight Struggle Is Neurological (And Fixable) with Dr. Steve Rondeau
Q: How would you apply what you're doing to the weight loss space, and can EEG/brain data guide between surgery and GLP-1s?
There is substantial overlap between GLP-1s and psychedelic research in terms of understanding brain patterns; brain data can help predict who responds to which therapy and assist in creating a durable plan that includes coaching, therapy, and environmental supports.
Episode 82: It's Not Willpower: Brain Science Proves Your Weight Struggle Is Neurological (And Fixable) with Dr. Steve Rondeau
Q: So, how would a GLP-1 medication work for 85% of people?
GLP-1s act as a powerful tool to reduce food noise and help people make lifestyle changes; the idea is to use brain-pattern data to predict who will respond best and when, allowing a more targeted approach rather than a one-size-fits-all strategy.
Episode 75: The Truth About Alcohol and Bariatric Surgery
Q: What should I do if I'm struggling with water after gastric bypass?
Hydration is crucial; patients can try various non-carbonated, sugar-free beverages and should not hesitate to modify their diet to accommodate their preferences post-surgery.
Episode 75: The Truth About Alcohol and Bariatric Surgery
Q: Will a small hiatal hernia affect my surgery?
During bariatric surgery, the hernia can be evaluated and repaired if necessary, particularly with sleeve surgery where reflux is a concern.
