  • Advocacy Without Balance

I’m a strong supporter of GLP-1s and take Zepbound, so I appreciate the intent behind this podcast.

That said, the execution makes it hard to listen. The tone often drifts into rambling, and the guest mix leans heavily pro-compounding without much nuance around the real tradeoffs.

There are valid affordability concerns, but the discussion rarely acknowledges the risks around compounding or the role of pharma in making these drugs possible. It’s also hard to ignore the consistent praise for spo... more

  • Change of Mindset, Science-based

Really appreciate the real-time and past steps to get to this place…health gain. And, changing the way these drugs are seen as, but more importantly, the way society sees this condition. I came for the inflammation reduction, as I had heard from another podcast, but have learned additional and invaluable helpful pieces in the overall GLP-1s/peptides. Life changing information.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

New to GLP-1s? Start Here | The Truth About Obesity (S1 Ep 5 Repost)
Q: How do GLP-1s work and how are they similar or different from bariatric procedures?
GLP-1s trigger satiety signals by hormonal pathways in the gut–brain axis, reducing hunger and helping with weight loss, while bariatric procedures physically alter the stomach and intestines; both have hormonal and metabolic effects but operate via different mechanisms.
GLP-1: What We’re Not Talking About
Q: What advice do you give to listeners dealing with ongoing family toxicity while pursuing personal health goals?
Prioritize boundaries, build a support system outside the toxic environment, and use writing or journaling to externalize and process emotions before engaging with difficult conversations or confrontations.
UPDATED AUDIO: GLP-1s, Weight Regain, & Why Men Don’t Seek Help P1
Q: So we'd like to give you the floor to explain that for us, please.
Dr. Jindro explains his background as an obesity medicine physician, his personal weight loss journey, and how that informs his approach to treating patients with obesity through a combination of lifestyle modification, medical therapy, and surgical options when appropriate.
Weight Loss Maintenance on GLP-1s | Dr. Melynda Barnes (Ro) & CeCe
Q: What do you do when you hit a stall or plateau?
Dr. Barnes advises that it is important not to panic but to consult with practitioners to understand underlying causes, assess any changes in nutrition or exercise, and remember that maintaining weight loss is also a significant achievement.
Weight Loss Maintenance on GLP-1s | Dr. Melynda Barnes (Ro) & CeCe
Q: Can you explain what the science tells us about obesity as a chronic metabolic condition, and why this effort alone usually isn't enough for most people?
Dr. Barnes explains that obesity is driven by a set point weight that the body fights to maintain through hormonal influences affecting hunger and metabolism. Thus, simple willpower doesn't suffice to manage it effectively.
