Garrett really gets to the heart of what drives composers to do what we do. This podcast is an inspiring look at the challenges facing the proffesional composer.
Another podcast about music that gives no real useful information. The episodes I listened to wee almost entirely subjective opinions and contained little to no technical information or step by step “how to’s.” It’s all fluff.
I highly recommend this Podcast!
One of my favorite podcasts!!
A very informative podcast. Very useful for composers starting out!
Garrett is an excellent interviewer. The plethora of knowledge contained in these podcasts is enough to start any musician on the path of financial success. There are so many good ideas and good leads to follow. Listen now!

Thank you so much for inviting me to interview for your great podcast! I was happy to share my journey with you and discuss the business and practicalities of being a film composer whilst also discussing my score for The Guenrsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society directed by Mike Newell for Studio Canal, Blueprint Pictures and Mazur Kaplan productions.
This podcast has provided tremendous insight and inspiration for pursuing my dreams of growing my business of composing. The connections Garrett makes with the interviewees and his audiences are authentic and engaging. Thank you, Garrett, for all you do through your music and The Portfolio Composer!
great podcast to be a part of! Thanks Garrett!
Garrett’s podcast has been invaluable for me. I can’t recommend it highly enough for any stage of a composer’s career. And, he’s just a great guy!
